The Free ShopSafe service really impresses me a lot. It works like a prepaid virtual credit card, which also offers you a disposable account number and security code by email. Once you use up the fund in this virtual credit card, the account number and security code will become useless.
Thanks for your article. Now I know that Bank of America provides this service as well. I don’t bother applying for a prepaid virtual credit card any more. With a credit card issued by Bank of America, I can create such temporary card numbers for online purchases on my own.

It is said that Bank of America provides a wonderful service which is very helpful to avoid online frauds. It’s called ShopSafe service. Let me familiarize you with its operation. Though the ShopSafe service, you can generate a virtual credit number which is directly linked to your real credit number. But when you buy things online, the merchant doesn’t know which number you’re using. To enjoy this service, you have to download its application from the website. And you should also own a bank account and enroll in the online banking. ShopSafe doesn’t accept accounts from other banks.

ShopSafe is a nice service, but Bank of America ruins it. Why? My virtual number was stolen by someone. And I call the bank to let them know. You know what they’ve done? They simply canceled my REAL credit card and told me a new one would be sent to me very soon. Is that necessary? It is my virtual number that is stolen, not the real one!
